CRISIS AND INNOVATION// Princeton University Conference

Participating in an exciting conference at  Princeton University that explored the interplay between moments of Crisis and processes of Innovation in Modern Greece. Orsalia of Studio Synthetica presented a paper discussing possible new arenas that deepen the democratic participation, work as creative and emancipating spaces amidst the crisis and extend the notion of public sphere.

Pictures of Studio Synthetica showing Navarinou Park, one of the paper’s key studies,  in the centre of Athens. Navarinou Park used to be a parking plot that was occupied on 2009 by different civil groups and turned into a public space. The park is designed, built, maintained and managed collectively by its users.
