Balancing Acts I – V

“They are all ladies.

They are doing ok.

The have produced and reproduced and they are more or less finely placed within this perpetuating cycle keeping things together. Somehow.

One more toy, one more nursery rhyme, extra unpaid workload, another kilo, another idea of romantic dinner, another drop of milk and they are going down.

Yes, the weight might be insignificant, but it is just enough to shift their balance.”

Ursula Dimitriou teamed up with Alessandra Kila, a London-based photographer, to produce a series of installation pieces inspired by challenged women face balancing between domestic, professional and private lives. The works were first displayed at Meanwhile Dalston project by Studio SYN.
